Welcome to Bright Beginnings ABA: A Personal Hello
Hi there, and welcome!
I’m so excited to launch the Bright Beginnings ABA blog, “The Bright Side of Behavior.” I thought the best way to start would be introducing myself - not just as the founder of this clinic, but as a person who genuinely cares about this community, the field of ABA, and the families we serve.
My Background
My journey in the field of applied behavioral analysis began during my undergrad experience, while I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology. I first worked at a BCBA owned clinic as a registered behavior technician and fell in love with the field. I found it so motivating to consistently see children and their families make progress, not only through the data, but in our daily interactions. I knew it was my passion and purpose. I then continued to move forward in the field, moving back to the St. Louis area near my family, and getting my master’s degree to finally become a BCBA - my dream!
Why I Do This Work
I believe in the power of individualized, compassionate care. Watching a child achieve a new skill or helping a parent feel confident in supporting their child at home is what motivates me every day. Bright Beginnings was founded out of a vision to create a space where children and families feel supported, progress is celebrated, and families are true partners in the therapeutic process.
Beyond the Clinic
Outside of work, I love being involved in our town of Eureka - visiting La Finca or Orange Couch Coffee, eating at Hola or Sarah’s, and shopping at all of the boutiques downtown. I enjoy connecting with other small business owners and members of the community.
I am also a proud cat mom - with three of them running around my house! In my downtime you can typically find me reading, watching TV, or traveling with my family.
Looking Ahead
This blog will be a space where we share helpful resources, clinic updates, ABA tips, and stories that reflect our mission. I hope it also becomes a way for families and professionals to feel connected to what we’re doing here at Bright Beginnings.
Thanks for reading, and I’m truly glad you’re here. Whether you’re a parent seeking support, a provider interested in collaborating, or someone curious about ABA, I’d love to connect.
Warmly,
Maryann Mercier
